Renovation & Home Staging

This lower ground floor flat was part of a Victorian converted house, a stones throw from Clissold Park in Stoke Newington. The flat had been empty for a number of years due to complicated leak and damp problems, as a result of the original conversion. Various investigative works meant the flat was handed to me as a bit of a 'wreck', and a full renovation was required to get it up to selling scratch. This was another project for Brickworks London, the ethical estate agents. Doors, skirtings and flooring were reinstated, the boiler relocated with new plumbing installed, along with a complete redesign of the shower room and w.c, and full redecoration of the entire flat. The kitchen was tiny so required some clever, attractive new units and thoughtful design to make the most of the space. A porcelain terrazzo floor tile was repeated throughout – in the utility room, bathroom and w.c, plus kitchen, all with underfloor heating for extra heat. We designed and built new storage in the bedroom, and painted the entire room, including the ceiling, doors and skirtings in a ‘setting plaster’ pink, which added charm and warmth. We then home staged the flat choosing a scheme that felt sympathetic to the style of the building, adding warmth with a mix of wood and cane furniture, natural rugs and vintage fabrics, all complimenting the paint colour scheme. The front and back gardens were also given some love with new potted plants and a lick of paint outside to show off the characterful original back door. The result was a very cosy, cottage-like home, that needless to say, got snapped up straight away.
